Floris Meydam produced his Etruska designs in 1974 following the success of Verboeket's 'Antiqua' series, and the two ranges appeared side by side in the new catalogues of the unified company, often using the short-lived label 'Kristalunie/Leerdam'. In later life Etruska and Antiqua were produced in the same workshops, by the same hands and used glass from the same ovens. Both ranges were supposed to include bubbles but were occasionally made without them. Collector's will note that the Etrusca itemas include a ring at the rim or collar of the design and is distinct from the thicker bands at the mouth of some Antiqua patterns. A Note about our prices: The prices quoted are for 'cabinet quality' examples which are clean. Many of the items are easily damages (especially the hand-applied handles) and they seem to be very susceptible to water-discolouration. |
