Verboeket's Antraciet series was launched in 1958 and provided an inexpensive range of simple forms typical of the post-war period. In addition to the eight original designs, the series was later expanded to include cylinder and drop-shaped vases in five basic colours. They were mould blown, but the additional costs of manual production meant that they were unable to compete with the growing flood of cheap products from France (Arcques), Czechoslovakia, Poland and the far east. |
