Arlecchino was a successful fiestaware pattern but could not approach the success of Verboeket's Carnaval. This realisation led to the introduction of Boom's Cascade range, to contrast with the Arlecchino elements of a more French style in its use of extensive gold, luster glazes and a rather 'antique' pallette. The decor was applied to glasses in a wide range of shapes.

De Rupel paid tribute to Maastricht in it's choice of brandname, image and typographical style as well.

Similar glasses were produced by several other Belgian factories although they remained largely unbranded and now therefore virtually impossible to identify with confidence.
The book 'Booms Glas' also shows a large range of colourful decanters which were offered to accompany the stemware.

In the 1960's Boom introduced a much brighter pallette for the Cascade range and Arlecchino quickly fell out of production.
