Arlecchino was a successful fiestaware pattern but could not approach the success of Verboeket's Carnaval. This realisation led to the introduction of Boom's Cascade range, to contrast with the Arlecchino elements of a more French style in its use of extensive gold, luster glazes and a rather 'antique' pallette. The decor was applied to glasses in a wide range of shapes.
De Rupel paid tribute to Maastricht in it's choice of brandname, image and typographical style as well. ![]()

Similar glasses were produced by several other Belgian factories although they remained largely unbranded and now therefore virtually impossible to identify with confidence.
![]() The book 'Booms Glas' also shows a large range of colourful decanters which were offered to accompany the stemware. ![]() In the 1960's Boom introduced a much brighter pallette for the Cascade range and Arlecchino quickly fell out of production.
